Thoughts on Mark Rothko

Let it first be noted that I was possibly the biggest hater of abstract art. No, really. What even is so special about abstract art? All anyone has to do is splash some paint around, fake their death and watch as the sale price for their piece then skyrockets. I guess I am somewhat of a cynic, but I believe I have a point.
Anyway, I have decided to make Rothko an exception from my hate list.
I am not sure why exactly, but looking at his works actually gives me feelings. It's strange honestly. I think I would die of genuine embarassment if I told someone I might actually like abstract art.
Maybe it's just aesthetically pleasing? I would definitely want a rug inspired from these patterns.
I now plan to make my very own Rothko in the future.
Possibly the Only Pieces I like
