My Study Habits and Study Habits I Should Implement

I think this post is generally about the lesser known things about studying. The normal stuff like making a timetable is not included here because it's general stuff probably. Nontheless, I don't want to be judgemental and so I will put a link for the basic things here. It is pretty much a list in a sense and it's pretty comprehensive, so I really like that. Anyway, remember that learning is the outcome we desire and that studying may help us reach that goal.

I took a (free) course and it was very helpful for me. Although I am pretty sure it's catered towards kids, I enjoyed it nonetheless and learned a lot from it.

Realistic and Ideal Plan (For Me)

Studying beforehand is honestly the most ideal for me and probably a lot of people in general. Here's how I would study beforehand:

  1. Do research online [refer to syllabus]

  2. Make a powerpoint based on what has been found

  3. See what makes sense and what doesn't when class comes aound.

I would suggest starting with math (or subjects like that), since it requires more understanding and needs a lot of practice.

Ways of Thinking

There's technically more ways to think than the ones I have listed. After all, the human mind doesn't actually occupy physical space. These are pretty common and so I incuded them. Besides, I can't give advice or talk about something I don't know that well about.

VISUAL
  1. This link right here and here

  2. Making powerpoints full of pictures or some equivalent (like flashcards with drawings)

AUDITORY
  1. It usually helps me if I remember things in a song.

  2. Make the words have some sort of rhythm. Basically, recite whatever you have to memorise in the rhythm of a tune or beat that is familiar to you. It works so well when I memorise phone numbers and other strings of numbers. If you're memorising the digits of pi, consider making it a song.

SENSORY

This particular section is very interesting. For me at least.

  1. You can get someone to trace images/words on your hand. Works surprisingly well in my opinion.

  2. I am not sure if this is counted as sensory, but studying in a group, or participating in discussions can really help strengthen your understanding of a topic.

WORDS(?)

You're very lucky if you're more oriented this way (if you follow traditional school systems).

  1. Write (not type)

  2. Read
